Mongolian Wool Socks
Our wool socks are made from a single material: 100% Mongolian sheep wool, with no polyamide, no elastane and no dye. That is what makes them so warm. Wool insulates even when slightly damp, lets the foot breathe and holds few odours.
The Monlaine Classic line has two models. The Classic Cuff is a thick sock that reaches mid-calf, for home, boots and harsh cold. The Thigh-High reaches mid-thigh and stays up thanks to the structure of its knit, with no synthetic elastic.
Wool socks for women and men alike: the Classic Cuff comes in EU sizes 35 to 45, the Thigh-High in EU sizes 35 to 39. The three colours, Yak Brown, Steppe Grey and Natural Ecru, are the natural colours of the fibre, obtained by sorting. Yak Brown is the name of a shade: these socks are sheep wool, not yak wool.
The wool comes from flocks raised outdoors by nomadic herders, in steppes where winter drops to −40 °C. The socks are knitted in a workshop in Mongolia.
