In the Mongolian steppe, winters drop to −40 °C. The sheep that provide this wool live there all year round, outdoors. The result is a dense, naturally insulating fibre that holds warmth without stifling the foot.

Composition

100% Mongolian sheep wool. No synthetic blend. Yak Brown, Steppe Grey and Natural Ecru come from the colour of the fibre itself, undyed. Yak Brown is the name of a shade: these socks contain no yak wool.

How they are made

The wool comes from flocks raised by nomadic herders. The socks are knitted in a workshop in Mongolia.

Care

Hand wash in cold water, or delicate wool cycle (30 °C max). Do not wring. Dry flat.

Available in 4 sizes: 35-36 / 37-39 / 40-42 / 43-45. If in doubt, take the larger size.

FAQ

Can they go in the washing machine? Yes, on a delicate wool cycle at 30 °C maximum, no spin, then dry flat.

Do they contain polyamide or elastane? No: 100% sheep wool, no synthetic fibre.

Are they made of yak wool? No. Yak Brown refers to the natural brown shade of the sheep wool.
